AUDI AG sets new standards in the field of photovoltaics. On its plant premises in Ingolstadt, the car manufacturer has made numerous roofs available for practical testing of innovative new technologies by the Munich-based company Green City Energy. Photovoltaic modules will be installed there over a surface area of 11,600 square meters (124,861 square feet) in the weeks ahead.

AUDI AG has taken first place in HORIZONT’s creativity ranking. The trade journal for marketing and advertising annually selects Germany’s most imaginative companies and brands. The Audi brand’s wealth of ideas already made an outstanding impression over the year in many national and international creative awards – and this was the factor that secured its victory in the HORIZONT ranking.

New Audi corporate design receives award

AUDI AG has won the renowned prize of the German Designer Club. In the competition for “Good Design” the Ingolstadt car maker’s refined corporate design took the prize in the corporate communications category. The strengthening of the brand essence “Vorsprung durch Technik” and the manifestation of the brand values “sporty, progressive, sophisticated” formed the basis of the makeover for the company’s 100-year anniversary.

AUDI AG: November sales figures 8.9 percent above preceding year

In November AUDI AG delivered around 82,750 cars to customers – 8.9 percent more than in the preceding month (2008: 75,965). Between January and November Audi sold some 870,600 cars worldwide (2008: 920,689). The distance behind the record year of 2008 thus shrunk to 5.4 percent. Besides high growth rates in the Asia-Pacific region, sales figures in the United States and in other American markets also contributed to the good monthly results.

In 2010, the DTM, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the customer sport program with the Audi R8 LMS will again be the three cornerstones of AUDI AG's motorsport commitment. By participating in the inaugural "Le Mans Intercontinental Cup" Audi has opted for a new, forward-thinking racing series in which alternative drive concepts will be used.

Today at the LA Auto Show, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger paid a special visit to the Audi booth to review firsthand the Audi e-tron fully electric concept study model firsthand. Earlier this week at the LA Auto Show, Schwarzenegger had expressed his support for automakers raising the bar on environmental responsibility and acted upon that enthusiasm today by visiting the Audi booth to learn more about e-tron.

Responsibility for the environment: "Oak Forest" research project

36,000 oak trees have been planted. Together they constitute a scientific experiment unlike any other in Germany: Together with the Bavarian State Forestry and the Chair of Forest Yield Science at the Technical University of Munich, Audi has launched the “Oak Forest CO2 Reservoir” research project in the Kösching Forest near Ingolstadt. Trial sites near Györ, Hungary, and other locations worldwide are to follow. By funding this project, Audi underscores its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. This commitment is also evident in the Company’s systematic measures to conserve resources both in the products themselves and in their production.
