Audi of America Announces TRUTH IN MOTION: THE U.S. SKI TEAM’S ROAD TO VANCOUVER

As part of its continued support of the U.S. Ski Team, Audi of America today announced that it has commissioned a documentary film, , which will tell the unique stories of these elite American athletes as they prepare for the competition of their lives – the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. will air first January 30 at 8pm EST on NBC, followed by an appearance on the USA Network on February 6 at 5pm EST. It will also run three times in primetime on the Universal Sports Network. Audi has been a sponsor of the U.S. Ski Team since 2007.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. announced today that it is investing in flagship Audi and Volkswagen dealerships in New York City, as part of its strategic plan to grow business in the U.S. market. The $125 million deal is for the 265,000 square-foot building formerly housing Potamkin General Motors. The building is strategically sited in the highest traffic area of 11th Ave., making it a convenient location for Volkswagen and Audi customers.

Audi upgrades annual sales target to 925,000 cars

AUDI AG sold around 82,750 cars in October, 0.4 percent more than in the prior-year month (2008: 82,436). From January through October, Audi sold some 787,900 cars worldwide (2008: 844,724). The difference compared with the record-breaking year 2008 was consequently reduced to -6.7 percent, significantly better than forecast at the start of the year. In China, Audi had already matched the total for the whole of 2008 by the last week of October.

Germany’s Bild am Sonntag newspaper has awarded a Golden Steering Wheel to its choice of best midsize vehicle: the new Audi A5 Sportback, the third model from Audi’s successful core model line based on the modular longitudinal platform. The Audi A5 Sportback’s victory constitutes the 18th award presented to a vehicle with the four rings in the 34-year history of the competition. Audi is thus the most successful brand in the competition.
