German "Design Oscar" for Audi A5 Coupé

The German Design Council is to honor the Audi A5 Coupé with a 2010 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. This is the fourth time that an Audi model has won this most prestigious of all official German design awards. The award will be presented as part of the opening ceremony of the International Ambiente Fair in Frankfurt on February 12, 2010. A total of 23 products emerged victorious from the Product Design category of this renowned competition.

Design excellence: the Audi Customizing Club

Three creative concepts were the top choices in the "Audi Customizing Club" design contest. The talented tuning trio of Alexander Christ, Michael Horn, and Hubert Plaikner captivated the high-caliber panel of judges by proposing unique designs of accessory parts. Audi had got to know the contestants at this year’s Wörthersee Tour. In 2010, the winning designs will contribute to the development of an Audi show car.

New body shop for Audi A3

In recognition of Audi's 100th birthday, the company with the four rings will once again invest considerably in its future. Earthwork operations for a key construction project in the northern sector of Audi's Ingolstadt site will begin in late October. More than €100 million will be invested in a new body-manufacturing shop for the Audi A3.

Audi clear premium market leader in Europe

AUDI AG sold around 705,300 cars worldwide from January through September. The cumulative result is thus a mere 7.5 percent behind last year’s record (2008: 762,288 cars) in a situation that continues to be difficult. In the first three quarters of the year, the company’s unit sales were ahead of the projected figures, with Audi aiming to deliver approximately 900,000 cars to customers in 2009 as a whole. In September the company delivered around 88,600 cars, with sales remaining some 6.8 percent behind the strong figures of last September (2008: 95,136). The company recorded high growth in the BRIC countries, especially in China. Other emerging markets in the Asia-Pacific region have also improved significantly on last year.

Owned and operated by Audi national dealer council member Jack Hanania, this state of-the-art facility will open to customers with a gala event on Wednesday, October 7th at 6:00pm.

100th anniversary of Bernd Rosemeyer’s birth

The 100th anniversary of the birth of racing driver Bernd Rosemeyer, who was born on October 14, 1909 in Lingen in north-west Germany, is approaching. Audi Tradition will be laying a bouquet at the memorial on today?s A5 Autobahn. Rosemeyer achieved international fame primarily as one of Auto Union?s top drivers in Grand Prix races and world speed record attempts in the ?Silver Arrows? era of the 1930s. His racing triumphs in Europe, Africa and the USA made him a public idol ? not least because of his swashbuckling driving style. Bernd Rosemeyer was a hero of his time, who tragically lost his life at the zenith of his career while making a world speed record attempt in early 1938.

September 2009: Best month for Audi in China

AUDI AG sold a total of 108,859 vehicles in China (including Hong Kong) from January through September. This represents an increase of 20 percent on the corresponding prior-year period. In September, the brand sold over 15,000 cars in a single month for the first time ever, recording an increase of 37 percent on the same month last year. This makes September Audi’s best month ever in China.
