AUDI AG extends its partnership with 1. FC Nürnberg at the beginning of the new playing season: Effective immediately, the manufacturer from Ingolstadt is the exclusive vehicle partner of the Bundesliga climber and provides cars from its sporty model range to the leadership squad around chief coach Michael Oenning.

Audi today released pricing for many of its 2010 model-year offerings, which are headed to authorized Audi dealerships to meet strong consumer demand.

AUDI AG sold 2.1 percent more vehicles worldwide last month than in July 2008. Some 85,000 customers opted for a new Audi (2008: 83,210). From January through July, the company sold approximately 551,000 vehicles – 8.1 percent less than one year earlier (2008: 599,429). As the market's leading premium brand, Audi benefited from growth in China to reach a new monthly sales record there. In the United States and Western Europe, Audi’s sales progressed better than those of its competitors.

To celebrate its centenary, the Audi brand is looking back on an exciting rally era. In a special exhibition entitled “The Cornering Wizards: Group B Rally Cars” from August 12 to October 31 2009 at the Audi museum mobile in Ingolstadt, Audi Tradition is displaying no fewer than 12 rally cars from the 1983 to 1986 period – with a collective power output of more than 5,000 bhp!

Audi today affirmed an August consumer sales offer that adds a $1,000 incentive to transactions eligible for the federal government’s “Cars Allowance Rebate System” reimbursement program, more commonly known as “Cars for Clunkers.”

Audi today announced it sold 6,407 vehicles in the U.S. during the month of July. Despite a tough sales climate, Audi outperformed its imported luxury car competitors in July with some Audi models setting 2009 monthly records, including the Audi A8, Audi A3, Audi A4 Avant and Audi TT Coupe.

In the first six months of the current year the Audi Group succeeded in avoiding the effects of the negative overall market trend, and recorded a significant operating profit of 823 million euros (2008: 1.3 billion euros). The Audi brand is also hitting its sales targets: in the first six months, approximately 466,000 cars were delivered (2008: 516,219), representing a 9.7 percent shortfall compared with the previous year’s record figure.

The premiere of the Audi Cup ended with a spectacular finale on Thursday night in Munich: FC Bayern München won with a score of 7:6 against Manchester United in the penalty shoot-out and thus clinched the 60-centimeter high Audi Cup for its extensive trophy collection in Munich. The match winner in the sold-out Allianz Arena was goal-keeper Michael Rensing, who saved the crucial penalty kick.
