The super stars are here: This morning, AC Milan arrived in Munich as the last of the four participants in the Audi Cup. Manchester United, Boca Juniors from Argentina and host FC Bayern München have already been in town since the beginning of the week. The press conference in the afternoon officially kicked off the summit meeting of the four World Cup winners.

At the evening gala in the Audi Forum, 1,800 invited guests witnessed a spectacular program of celebrations staged outdoors. The highlights included the speech by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the unveiling of the new Audi A5 Sportback and the first performance of Chinese star pianist Lang Lang on the Audi Design grand piano.

For AUDI AG, July 16, 2009 is a memorable day: on that day exactly 100 years ago, automotive pioneer August Horch founded August Horch Automobilwerke GmbH in Zwickau, Germany. A short time later he renamed the company after the Latin translation of his last name – making it Audi Automobilwerke. The brand with the four-ring logo is celebrating its birthday this week with a series of events.

Audi is presenting a new vehicle concept – the Audi A5 Sportback. The five-door model with the long, flowing rear end unites the best of various vehicle genres: the emotion and elegance of a coupe, the comfort of a sedan and the practicality of a station wagon. The Sportback joins the Coupé and Cabriolet as the third member of the A5 model family. A5 Sportback is not planned for the United States.
